Dr. Ilysa Michelson, Psychologist

Dr. Michelson is an excellent therapist combining skill and empathy creating a wonderful experience for growth. I highly recommend her.

Here's the thing: You hope that therapists are all empathetic, kind, and ethical. You expect them to be - after all, they're in the helping profession. But people enter these professions for different reasons, and having seen my share of truly crazy (no non-PC pun intended) therapists, Dr. Michelson is a diamond in the rough. She is truly patient-centered - no talking down, no dismissive advice - talking to her is like having a conversation with a trusted friend who really cares about your well-being. So while she is supportive, she will do the right thing and push you to think about areas of your life differently. She focuses on teaching skills in a way that anyone can understand and apply to his/her own life. Add a doctoral training and Dr. Michelson is someone that I trust to not just be a good therapist but a good DOCTOR. I would not hesitate to recommend her to anyone I know.

Dr. Michelson saved my life. Her empathy and compassion goes beyond any practitioner that I have ever seen. I feel as though I can open up to her and be myself without her passing any judgement. I feel safe in her company and I felt that she really listened to me and took time to work with me on my issues. I highly recommend her to anyone seeking guidance.
