I began working for Amcor in Sep of 2023 through Manpower Temporary Employment Services. On Tuesday Nov 7, 2023 Ashley Monteselo pulled me from my row to set up an interview through the company in order to start the hiring process in which she set for Monday, Nov 13, 2023. Ashley, then directed me to the Amcor website to complete an application. Prior to this Jessica Danis with Human Services sat me in her office and gave me my orientation date for Monday November 20, 2023 stating that she would have my offer letter before my orientation date. My Supervisor Larry and Manager Rich were all on board. I was a great worker, never missed a day, and worked overtime as needed. On the afternoon of Nov 7, 2023 on my lunch break I submitted my employment application as directed by Amcor. I was honest about my past physical injury from a car wreck in Feb of 2023 that occurred in another State. (I had a minor injury and had to go to chiropractor appointments which was successfully completed and was cleared to return to work Aug of 2023) also, listed on my application was my disability for Asthma and chronic bronchitis. Jessica, had become aware of my disability when I trusted her with paperwork that pertained personal information about my disability to fax over for me to NJ FamilyCare on Nov 15, 2023. At this point she knew about my injury and was now aware of my disability. On Monday, Nov 13, 2023 I went to see Jeff the hiring manager for my interview which was set for 1030 am. I sat in the conference room waiting for him until 10:40 am however, Jeff never arrived. I went over to his office to remind him of my interview. He then said he would be right with me. We sat for 3 mins and Jeff seemed uninterested. It was one of those interviews you walk into and know you're not being hired. He then asked me if I was given a date for orientation I replied yes. He said great see you then and sent me off to finish my shift. On Nov 16, 2023, I received an email on my way to work at Amcor that my application for the packer position was rejected. On Friday, Nov 17, 2023 I went to Amcor on my day off to speak with Human Resources and administration, I was crying to them and Jessica Danis was aware of my current hardship that has nothing to do with my disability or past injury. I heard nothing but good things about my work ethic and how they appreciated my hardworking skills in the company From Melvin and then directed me to HR I went to her office to speak with her. She grinded her teeth and said "When you don't get the answer you're looking for you take it to higher up." I looked at her called her name and she replied "what". I didn't respond because I needed the job. On Friday, Nov 24, 2023, I received a phone call from Manpower stating that Amcor had let me go. Now for someone who always got to work on time, never called out, did everything in my job description and more, and was in the process of being hired into the company you wonder what went wrong, right? Then it all just hit me. Once Amcor became aware of my disability and injury and due to the inflation and covid epidemic the company took me as liability and needed a reason to let me go without making it looking as if it were discrimination over my disability and previous injury they made up a lie and I was Terminated from Amcor. They also accused my resume of being made up and what they failed to do was properly conduct a reference check. I am very intelligent and studied enough law to know that Amcor violated my equal rights to work at their company by discriminating against me for my disability and injury and I have all the proof of my findings. They also, hired a man with poor work ethic skills, always on his phone, in the bathroom vaping, and left me to do all of the work over someone who did the job perfectly and never had to be reprimanded. This is a very unfair company to work, your equal rights will be violated, whatever you tell HR the whole factory becomes aware of it, and most men in the warehouse do not respect women and our equal rights and HR will not have your back.
