My negative comments are very specific to our situation and my sons Perthes Diagnosis. The facility itself, reception, and even the therapist were very nice. I hate to leave anything negative, but parents should know, if your child has a Perthes Diagnosis (which is fairly uncommon) I would suggest finding another location/PT provider. While their intentions and initial evaluation seemed thorough, they had my son do something that was specifically harmful for his hip joint condition. She wanted him to do a standing long jump to measure how far he could jump. I told her the doctor said absolutely no jumping because it damages the hip joint (and too much damage can lead to surgery, time in a wheelchair, and potentially a lifetime of hip issues.) But the evaluating PT insisted she have him do it because she needed to know (as it was part of the evaluation process). I later consulted with the doctor and a couple other PTs with Perthes experience and they were shocked this happened. (And told me to find someone else). I am mostly angry at myself for not being a stronger advocate for my 5 year old when it came to a provider who didnt have the knowledge or experience with a Perthes Diagnosis. Another red flag was the homework and the type of exercises that were assigned. What I now know, but didnt at the time, was that specific range of motion exercises for the hip are critical for everyday exercisesand the main thing needed for a Perthes Diagnosis. The PT there seemed to want to focus more on his general balance, stretching, posture and only some range of motion. And while Im sure my son could benefit in general of these things, we needed specific PT guidance to keep his hip joint healthy and to avoid further damage to it. The last thing isnt that big a deal for me as it didnt directly harm my son, but they told me his leg and foot were significantly different sizesafter a foot doctor consultation, another pediatric orthopedic consultation, and a few more PT consultations this turned out to not be true. It seems the way they measure is very subjective. To their credit they wanted me to follow up with the doctor. But just to note not to take the way they measured leg lengths and foot sizes as very accurate. Again, the facilities seem well taken care of, and all my interactions with the people that worked there were pleasant. This is just a caution for the Perthes Parents out there. And Perhaps this review will be more like constructive criticism and lead them to re-evaluate the way the handle children with a Perthes Diagnosis. (This review is for the midland park location)

Ive just completed my therapy program at Ivy Rehab in Midland Park. My therapist Luke Mazurek, was superb, as was the staff and support people. Luke was knowledgeable, professional and empathetic. He is everything a great therapist needs to be. The receptionists and assistants were also excellent, always helpful and supportive. I would recommend Luke and Ivy Rehab without hesitation to anyone who needs physical therapy.

Tim Roy is the best physical therapist I have ever used. His knowledge and understanding of the human anatomy is tremendous. He is hands on and works with you and watches every patient carefully that is under his care. The office is also top notch. Shawna and Ashley at the front desk are highly organized. Shawna verified all my medical coverage before my first visit. there was no guess work about what would be covered. All of the assistants that work with Tim are also well organized and respectful. I have been to 4 different rehab facilities during my lifetime and Ivy is by far the best!
