    I have nothing but positive things to say about Kelly Golden (my Prescriber) and Heather Foley (my therapist). They are both knowledgeable/helpful/practical, professional, and compassionate. They always take time to answer my questions even when we're getting near the end of a session (I never feel rushed) and they take the time to get to know my particular situation before recommending a prescription or stress management technique. They have both been extremely helpful in helping me manage my anxiety and anger, but also give me practical suggestions for other areas of my life related to mental and physical health. I'm very grateful to be working with both of them, and the Synapse practice, to manage my health and overall well-being.

    My main concerns with Synapse Behavioral Health stems from their lack of administrative organization, lack of empathy for patients, and unreasonable policies. Synapse Behavioral Health was charging me $25 per visit for a couple of months. This quickly added up to be over $200 in total. I would soon find out that I shouldnt have been charged anything, as my insurance covers mental health at 100%. I had a baby in November, and had to cancel an appointment due to my baby being sick and needing to see her doctor. Synapse took this as an opportunity to charge me $75 for a late cancellation fee, even though I explained the situation to them. It took me and my husband about two weeks to reach someone in billing. Ashley stated she had been out of the country and thats why she wasnt able to take my calls. Ashley looked into all of the charges and eventually did refund me. However, she said I would still be charged the $75, which I disputed due to the situation with my child. This was ultimately resolved, but it disappointments me that it took so long and really shouldnt have happened in the first place. In my opinion, mental health organizations should never be taking money from patient that they are not supposed to pay. My daughter has a heart issue and needed to see the cardiologist at CHOP, which interfered with my therapy appointment. I canceled with Synapse using their online cancelation request system over 24 hours in advance. My appointment was on a Tuesday late afternoon and I canceled Monday morning, due to the office being closed on weekends. Their 48 hour cancellation policy wouldnt have made a difference due to them not being in the office over the weekend. I was told that I will be charged $75 for this appointment and not to use the online cancelation request form, and instead send a text to a specific number. This situation really upsets me due to my request being over 24 hours in advance. I also do not believe in having a system for patients to us online if you only accept text requests. It is all very misleading and confusing. My advice to anyone looking to go here would be to keep looking elsewhere. There are much better organizations that care about people and their unique situations.

    This place is amazing. They evaluated me, cleared everything through my insurance and got me into treatment with TMS and med management with a speed unheard of in the mental health field. The staff are kind, caring, and professional. And the treatment is a life changer! If you are in need of TMS or medication management, Synapse is a great choice!
