I signed my son up about a year ago who was six. He has ADHD and an abundance of energy. I tried a few sports and he was not interested, but showed interest in the fact that I did martial arts when I was a bit younger. But instead of putting a handsy energetic kid in a martial arts that teaches more punching and kicking, I decided to start with ground game, Jiu Jitsu. McHugh has instructors that are not only talented in Jiu Jitsu, but work extremely well with kids. In fact over the past year, my son has calmed way down, became more disciplined, his focus has improved dramatically, but most importantly, he found something he loves and works hard for. Even his school teachers praise how well McHugh made him a better student. I highly recommend McHugh Jiu Jitsu for every kid, no matter if they are similar to my son or not! Finding something your son loves and works hard for in an organization that goes above and beyond is more than what any parent could ask for!

This jiu jitsu is awesome very family oriented and makes every single adult and kid feel like family the confidence my son got just with being here a few months has soared

the best academy. best people. best professors. best coaches. best community. definitely take a trial class and bring your kids for their trial class. you wont regret it.

Walked in the door not knowing anything. After five minutes in my first day I knew I was hooked. Between the instructors and other students it is a great group. I feel like everyone has the same goals in mind and everybody helps and works together so we can be our best.
