ShopRite of Lyndhurst

I have been a customer of ShopRite since the mid 1990s when they were still on Valley Brook Road. It used to be my favorite supermarket. Now it is bad enough that I no longer shop there. There are hardly any cashiers available so the lines are too long and if you shop in the evening, they close the front door and you are forced to enter and leave through the back door where all of the self checkouts are. I believe that they are manipulating us so that we are forced to use the self checkout, which I personally hate. I also feel so bad for the elderly community who are forced to use the self checkout since it seems that they have a harder time using it. The bathrooms are disgusting now. Even the bakery that I once loved is a disappointment. One would think that given all the new apartments buildings in the area and so many more customers, they would be more customer oriented like they used to be. Big disappointment. Its a shame that I now have to drive to other towns for my shopping needs.

Went shopping a little after 9pm, walked toward the front door that was closed with a tiny sign that said to use the back door by the self checkouts. I went to the customer care counter and asked why was the door locked and the answer I got " it's for security reasons " I don't get it, what security reasons..... Maybe they want you to exit by the self checkouts since there was not 1 cashier on duty!!! Where did all of those union jobs go? No wonder why more people go to stop n shop because there are not enough cashiers and the checkout lines are ridiculous.

The deli department at the lyndhurst shoprite is a disgrace 4 people working behind counter customers waiting and only 1 girl helping and God forbid you get the elderly lady with a big mouth I rather not get cold cuts.
