Jeruco Home Improvement, Jeruco Remodeling, Jeruco Property Maintenance, etc are all company names that Ruben Delgado and his associates use to do home renovations in New Jersey. With his games and lies, Ruben Delgado successfully deceived me and took $42,400 for my house in Newark, but the actual work done was just roughly $6000. In a second house in Scotch Plains he successfully deceived me and took $38,100 but the work done was just roughly $24,000. The Scotch Plains project was planned for 8 weeks but even though we had no issues with permits, Ruben Delgado kept on playing me games, Ruben Delgado had seen me as a fool and was only interested in my checks (money), and 12 weeks passed and yet Ruben Delgado had not passed any inspections in Scotch Plains, and he won't even schedule inspections and even when I personally scheduled inspection he won't even be in the house at the time of inspections. This was such an awful experience because he had taken so much of my money and yet he won't even take my calls or reply my text messages for weeks. I got so angry, I was so upset, so I told him I was taking over the renovation of Scotch Plains house and he should only focus in Newark house. Newark house which was planned for 3 months, had been delayed for 5 months and I got tired so I personally applied for Newark permits and got the permits, but when I told Ruben Delgado that I got the permits and I asked him when he will come back and start work again, he simply told me "You fired me, remember?". But this is someone I simply told I was only taken over Scotch Plains renovation, and that he should just focus on Newark house only. I am IT Consultant and I work Monday - Friday, but I had to take 2 months off to try and renovate Scotch Plains myself. Ruben Delgado never came back to work in my house in Newark after taking $42,400 from me, and after doing only roughly $6000 work, and even up till today that I am writing this review. He ended up telling me to tell my lawyer to contact his lawyer. So I searched for him and found him somewhere and when I confronted him, he called 911 on me. But when the police officers arrived and heard what he has done to me the officers rather sympathized with me, they took his address and gave to me and advised me to immediately file a lawsuit against him. The worst part of all this is that Ruben Delgado is aware that a previous bad General Contractor had taken my $25,000 and disappeared on the same Newark house, and he (Ruben Delgado) was the one who was even advising me to take actions on the previous bad GC, and yet Ruben Delgado is doing much worse by taking my $42,400 without doing any significant work.
I've filed $7000 lawsuit against him for a check he asked me to write in his personal name, and he won't even respond when he was served, so the case went into default judgement and the judge passed judgement in favor of me. I’ve filed 2 more lawsuits against his company names and I also filed complaint against him and his company names with NJ Consumer Affairs too.
My advise is stay away because Ruben Delgado and his company names are a systematic fraud. He comes smoothly and nicely, portrays himself as a devoted Christian and a saint, says sweet words, and tries to impress you at the early stages, and then when you get carried away and you trust him, and you give him your money, that's when you will see his true personality. He will act like a true and genuine Christian to lure you to trust him. At the early stage there were times when I called him and he will tell me "He can't speak because he is church", or "He is in bible study", or "He is an usher in church and he is busy working". To my surprise when I found out his church and spoke to a lady who works with the church Pastor, she told me Ruben Delgado is even an Elder in the church. She was also shocked after she heard what was happening. Just ask yourself the simple question “why does he use 3 different company names (he said they are DBAs)”, I see no other explanation than the systematic fraud and scam that he engages in.
