G & J Studios

My wife and I have been ballroom dancers for over 25 years and have enjoyed dance instruction from well over twenty different instructors, in half a dozen different studios across three states (Indiana, New York and New Jersey). Of these, the experience weve had at G & J Studios stands out. Unlike other studios, the instructors at G & J teach dance as a full-time career many, such as Merek and Denisa are internationally certified in dance instruction. Though weve taken instruction from Merek, Tomas and others at G & J, our primary instructor has been Denisa. After over almost five years of instruction weve found that no matter how vexing (to us anyway) the dance figure was, Denisa was able to quickly diagnose the issue and fix us in short order. Amazingly, some of these issues were a decade old and until instruction with Denisa, appeared to be problematic. G & J Studio also engages a wide range of other teachers whose focus ranges from ten-dance to unique specialties, such as Argentine Tango, Salsa, and even the Polka. Weve especially enjoyed the group classes where we learned dances appropriate for small club settings. Sandy and I learned early on that with respect to dancing fun, a lot has to do with how engaged someone wants to be. Prior to Covid, if you wanted to enjoy dancing or learn how to dance and meet new people, G & J offered numerous opportunities. These included monthly dance parties (we found them to be fun, cheap nights out), weekly group dance lessons (great if youve never danced before or wanted to learn a dance you didnt know) and studio showcases (where you had an opportunity demonstrate what youd learned in front of other very supportive dancers - or friends and family if you were so inclined). All of these events were focused on having fun, enjoying great music and getting to know new folks. With Covid hopefully entering our rear-view mirror, I look forward to re-engaging in these events again. Lastly, and for us very importantly, Merek and Denisa went out of their way to make everyone feel welcome whether you were coming to the studio for the first time having never danced a step before or already knew how to cut a rug. So, if youre looking for a place whose focus is truly on helping you become a better dancer or just want to find a place to meet some new folks and add a step or two to your high school shimmy, youd be challenged to find better studio than G & J. We had a fantastic time preparing for our first dance with Denisa! She is very professional and was able to tailor our classes and instruction to our skill level (beginner) though her studio has all ranges of skilled performers. We can't wait to impress our family with our new moves and look forward to dancing again ~ maybe next time we will learn how to tango!

Me and husband love to attend any events at the studio especially the showcases. The performances are always great, the atmosphere is amazing and the owners Marek and Denisa are very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended for any level of dancers.

I am so happy to have found G&J after years of dancing at other studios. Marek has been an amazing instructor not only providing technical expertise to improve my dancing but the patience to help me through previous injuries. Marek & Denisa have created a wonderful studio family with instructors and students who are supportive and encouraging of everyone. G&J is a great place for all levels dancers who want to improve their skills and have fun doing it!
