image Where the young ones are brainwashed. I was a victim of this place. But I thankfully saw the light and denounced their teachings.
Don't send your kids here, unless you want them to believe in silly and terrible things. Let them form their own beliefs, instead.

image To preface this, I am simply going to be telling my honest opinion on this school.
English and history were ok for the most part, but science, math, religion, and SPANISH were horrible. I took Spanish for 9 YEARS. Do you know what most of the spanish classes consisted of 90% of the time? A game called silent ball where the lazy teacher would not have to do her job and teach us a language during the adolescent formative years where the students are best equipped to learn a language. Silent ball consisted of throwing a ball to each other silently. It was nearly EVERY CLASS. I, as a young, naive individual, did not understand the importance of learning a language and was simply glad to skip a class. We were also told to stay quiet about this.If anything, we learned simple and useless vocabulary for food and no grammar. I know what queso is, thanks a lot.
Another class that makes my blood boil thinking about how much I missed out on is science. I hated science, all because of my education at Saint rose. Now, entirely in spite of my laughable experience at Saint rose, science is my passion and absolute favorite subject. Science consisted of random lessons where I learned barely anything with no explanations. I showed interest in many of the topics in the classes. However, my teacher called them boring on many occasions. Any questions I asked would be replied with I dont know the answer to that, you know, this stuff really is so boring I am just required to teach it. Excuse me? Is your job not to help grow the interest a student shows in the subject you teach? I understand not knowing the answer, but wow can you make your students any less interested?
As for math, my former math teacher was a great one, although she had her rough patches. She was quick to anger and kind of targeted students who wouldnt participate as much due to social anxiety. Once she flipped a table. The math class was always so slow as I was not in the advanced course. Now, I cannot speak for those in the accelerated course, but I can give my thoughts on the normal speed math course. It. was. so. slow. We literally spent like 2 months on 3 step equations. I mean like 3x + 2 = 5. Like seriously. In 8th grade. We also spent a ridiculous amount of time on integer rules, so I started to learn math outside of school.
Religion is next and it was easily the most useless class. Ok, after 9 years, I understand to spread the good news of Jesus by being kind to one another. Wouldve been cool to delve into the bible more as I have very little understanding of my own religion despite having learned about it for 9 years. Thats all I really have to say, although the teachers I had for religion were very nice.
Now, the staff. While many of them are absolutely wonderful people, some are not. The priest made us all stay inside for recess and write our phone numbers down and to write an apology letter for what one person did. In second grade, my teacher was mean to me and targeted me for literally no reason, and admitted to hating me for no reason. Although she quit the next year, it messed me up for quite a while, admittedly. A former principal used to literally FORCE children to finish their food until they would throw up. She also left eventually. Another principal ran the school like the military and scolded us for being too loud at lunch. She also tried to sell us her book. The current principal is USELESS and turns her back on bullying that is happening in the school. She is lazy and incompetent and this is the last straw for me. This is my experience at this school where I was unhappy for so long. Dont go here, it is a dying ship.
Most of the teachers were and continue to be kind and caring, but some experiences were not great and I wanted to share them honestly. Thank you to all the teachers who made school so special.
Edit: This review has received attention, and all I want to say is that I have EVERY RIGHT to recount my experience here. It doesn't matter if you don't agree bc it is MY truth and not yours to dictate. Have yourselves a LOVELY day.
