Bergen Debate Club

As a student of BCDC, I love this program. The coaches are nice, talented, and comedic. They are reasonable, and help us through all of our tournaments and classes. Kudos to this debate academy - highly recommended!

I am writing this review as a parent of a child who has been attending the Bergen County Debate Club (BCDC) for the past 2 years. Our experience with BCDC has been nothing short of exceptional. Our son Andrew has always been interested in debate. From the moment he stepped into BCDC, he was made to feel welcome and supported by the director, Oksana. She has an incredible talent for making every student feel valued and capable of achieving their goals. Under Oksana's guidance, Andrew has made tremendous progress in his debating skills. He has become more confident in his ability to articulate his arguments and respond to his opponents. The coaches at BCDC have also helped him develop valuable research and critical thinking skills that he can apply to other areas of his life. But perhaps the most impressive aspect of BCDC is the sense of community that Oksana has fostered. The club feels like a family, and the students are all supportive of each other. This has been particularly important for Andrew, as he has made some great friendships through the club. In conclusion, I cannot recommend BCDC highly enough. Oksana and the rest of the team have provided Andrew with an incredible learning experience, and we are so grateful for all that they have done for him. Thank you, Oksana, for your dedication and commitment to the success of every student at BCDC.

My son has been attending BCDC for over 1.5 years including the summer sessions. It has been a very rewarding experience for him. The classes are challenging, but fun, particularly when he switched to in-person format. I can see his level of confidence rising, especially when he is applying his lessons learned at yours truly :-).

Absolutely amazing debate center. Prior to Bergen Debate, I've been a student at other speech and debate institutions that just didn't have the same immersive lessons and coaches. If you choose to join their travel team, you'll be able to participate in multiple regional and national tournaments. BCDC offers many hours worth of prep help to aid you in your personal goal, whether it's winning a tournament or just getting better at debate and speaking. The coaches are very helpful and knowledgeable and always come up with fun ways to teach otherwise boring concepts. BCDC is highly recommended for anybody, regardless of skill, looking to experience debate!
