Dont waste your time and money here. The whole process is such a joke. They will take pictures of your babys head and then just by eye pointing out what is wrong with the head. There were no chart, numbers, measurements to show the improvements before vs after wearing the helmet, everything was just by looking at the pics. Its so funny that my son had the constant redness on his head around the opening of the helmet due to the material is so cheap and the shape of the helmet was not right for his head, they couldnt figure out how to fix it after multiple time shaving the inside of the helmet. I had to take the helmet off 99% of the time to watch his head and a month went by after the start day, they looked at his head and told me he got very nice improvement and only needed to wear it few more weeks. If my son could get nice improvements without wearing the helmet for 99%of the time, why would I need the helmet in the first place?? They put very little effort into fixing the helmet and overall it was a waste of time and money . They charged $4000 for the helmet and if my insurance hadnt covered it 100%, I would not pay a penny for this joke

I cant say enough good things about Cranial Technologies in Edison. We were between the Doc Band and Star Band and I honestly am so thankful we went with cranial tech/doc band. Everyone here is so knowledgeable, patient and friendly. The band itself is so light and way less bulky than star band. I was afraid it wouldnt be as effective because of this, but my son had severe flatness and bulging and it has worked wonders. I knew going into it that because of my sons severity that he would probably need two bands. They were upfront with this and when the time came around for the second band, they were proactive in getting the images and documentation to help advocate for our insurance paying for a second band (which they did).They also do frequent images to show progress which is great. I would recommend them to anyone!!!

My son was on the older side starting off with the helmet. He was 10.5 months. I didn't expect a miracle to happen, so this neutral-negative review does not reflect unrealistic expectations. I am overall unhappy with my experience because I had an older infant and was very much ignorant on all the information I needed to make the best decision for my son, including the insurance process, banding length of time, and the need for multiple helmets. My insurance covered the first helmet but they do not cover helmets past 12 months of age, so by the time my son outgrew his first helmet I had to pay entirely out of pocket for the second helmet at Cranial Technologies. Here's the thing that makes me upset: only after my son completed his first helmet did I realize that there are competing helmet providers whose helmets last much longer than the doc band. If I had gone with the other provider instead, my son would still be in his first helmet without ever having to worry about insurance and costs for a second helmet. Also, the competing helmet covers the entire head while the doc band does not. I think the full coverage would have done more to help shape my son's head. For those of you who have older infants or younger infants in the severe range that may need more than one doc band helmet for full treatment, please do your research so you can make the best possible decision for both your infant and for your wallet.
