    I made a deposit in early February for 2019 for my daughters sweet16 dress and 4 courtdresses for a December party. Total of 5 dresses. Final Measurements for all girls were done in April. . From April to July, The store hours stated it should've been open the times I went but it was in fact closed. I noticed a phone # was posted on the window. So I called and left vmails even sent text messages,nothing! In the end of August, I finally was able to get a hold of a person (owner) said she was in the hospital and would open the following week. I called the following week and even went to the store, no answer and store closed. At this time another few weeks had past.I took a half day of work, at this point, it is 2nd week of November. Party is in 3 weeks no dresses. I just so happen to catch the store open and paid another $300 she stated is owed on my daughters dress. I take my daughters dress. Owner then told me she lost measurements for all court girls, so I need to get them there or text or call next day with measurements. Which I text and call. No answer! I took another day off to go to store, its open! I still have no court dresses, 2 1/2 weeks to party, so I request a refund and owners daughter is there and says they dont do refunds. The daughters argument was that it is stated on receipt, so I show her my receipt, it clearly was Not stated anywhere on the receipt. So the owners daughter translated to spanish that she in fact owed me $280 for the court dresses deposit! The owner said I had to wait until December 18 TODAY. So I wait! I decide I will call to verify someone is there ( I live 1hr away and given this track record...) and owner answers, it took some time for her to remember the situation. Then she tells me she is not refunding me the money because her store had been closed and she didnt have the money. She then proceeded to say the store is going to be closed and she will have her daughter call me. I will be awaiting the call! Just a reminder now>> this is after she agreed IN WRITING over 1 month ago to refund me TODAY! I have it in writing signed by you! I Highly Do NOT Recommend this place at all! I will not be taking this situation lightly. I refuse to wait any longer and Will be escalating this matter to the fullest degree possible. New post: Since posting this review, I had reported the issue to the BBB and consumer affairs. On Jan 21st, I received a call from the owner at the time Beatriz, she wanted to issue my refund using my banking info. Long story short, on Jan 24th, I went to the store, received my refund from the New owner on Jan 25th! Unbeknownst to me, the business had been sold and is currently under new management. I am grateful for new management being able to resolve this issue with such urgency. Although I wasn't given the opportunity to work with Monica (new owner) at the time of my event, it would be my pleasure to work with her in the future.

    We walked in there She showed no interest in helping my daughter. She said my daughter was too big for her shop that they only have sizes 0 to size 8. She then said we can look through her catalog. We did and she pretended to take her measurements and said my daughter was too big for her shop. So rude and should not be in business. Especially when she was not clearly petite herself.

    TL;DR: don't listen to these reviews by people who can't have the patience to communicate with someone who is trying their best to speak English. Genesis bridal has good selections, decent prices, and quick alterations. Reading all of these one star reviews for this very decent dress shop is disheartening yet expected. I expected this mainly because the owner doesn't speak English very well and sometimes it's difficult to communicate with her. My mother and I are lucky to have had experience with talking to non-native speakers so we had no trouble being patient with her and getting the information we needed when buying my prom dress. Others may not have this skill and I can see why many have gotten frustrated with her and given up. Another thing is: I think the owner locks the door when there are no costumers (which isn't very logical, I'll be honest) but if you call ahead during open hours she will unlock it for you. She most certainly is highly skilled at her alterations and gets them done in good time . Also, the prices arent bad at all, especially compared to mall dresses and big names. If you are one of those people who are easily swayed by online reviews, I can see why you would never want to step foot in this store. However, if you are not ignorant to the fact that many Americans are not native English speakers then you will be fine. I don't see why anyone should not get their dress here

Since posting this review, I had reported the issue to the BBB and consumer affairs. On Jan 21st, I received a call from the owner at the time Beatriz, she wanted to issue my refund using my banking info.
