Days Inn & Suites by Wyndham Cherry Hill - Philadelphia

It didn't start well at check-in. We did that in the "airlock" (area between the outer and inner doors. The counter was behind glass. Worse, the lobby was actually closed. According to the receptionist, it closes daily at 3pm!! I later learned why I think that was the case: I believe the hotel houses the homeless besides guests. The room was clean and spacious when we got there, but was not cleaned at all in the 3 days we were there. Everything worked. We had toiletries provided, but the shampoo was cheap. Breakfast was adequate. The fitness center was actually nice and clean. Basically the 3 stars for me were for 2 things: The presence of homeless people and frankly questioning my safety at night outside my room The fact that my room was NOT cleaned at all in 3 nights Bummer, because it's a great location otherwise: 15-20 minutes from Philly and close to shopping with many restaurants Rooms: Clean when we arrived and spacious. Cheap toiletries. The room was NOT cleaned at all in the 3 nights we were there. Only swapping out towels, taking out the trash, and replenishing the cheap toiletries Nearby activities: Close to Cherry Hill Mall and lots of places to eat, both fast food and sit down. 20 minutes tops from all the tourist attractions of Philadelphia Safety: I think homeless people live here. One woman hung out by the vending machine when we went to get breakfast. Conversations with folks at breakfast led me to believe some lived at the hotel

Recently stayed here for a few nights with my boss while in town for a business fair. We first arrived at 2 am on a Sunday, exhausted from a day of travel. The next day when we were on our way to the fair, my boss mentioned his room reaked of cigarettes, as if someone had smoked there. Us being former smokers, we can tell the difference between smoking inside and the smell leaking into the room, and at the end of the day we decided to bring it up at the front desk and see about getting a room change. Not only did the person behind the desk not help, he proceeded to scream at us, cuss at us, and inform us we could "take our s*** somewhere else". We remained calm and respectful the whole time, even during the rage attack of the employee. I reported the employee to management the next day, but between the constant smell of weed, cigarettes, and lack of professionalism I can honestly say this place is just tragic. There are cheaper and better hotels, all around NJ and Philly.
