    I am very pleased with the work completed on my house. I had been shopping around for quotes for some work I needed done on my bay window roof and siding. They sent a very knowledgeable worker who was able to answer all my questions and provide me with recommendations on the spot. While it was not the cheapest quote I received (but also not the most expensive), it was the most comprehensive in terms of work that would address a problem that I believed would solve an issue I was having with a leak. I have an older house (1900) with difficult to work with siding and Novalis was the only company whose quote directly targeted some damage to the siding above my bay window and offered what I believe to be a long term solution. Understandably, it took a few weeks for me to get on the schedule, but this was communicated up front with me and I was fine waiting. Once I was on the schedule I had a team of two workers come to my house and complete the work within two days. They reroofed the bay window roof, redid the flashing, cut a strip of siding to install edging which fixed the damage that was there, and installed gutters. Pictures were provided before, during, and after the work was completed. The workmanship is top tier and it fixed the leak I was having. Overall, I had a very positive experience with Novalis and intend on continuing with them for future work that needs to be completed on my house. I believe that the pricing quoted is appropriate for the value of the work, and their customer service is fantastic. I highly recommend Novalis for anyone shopping around for a knowledgeable, high value roofing/ siding contractor, especially with difficult issues encountered with older houses.

    TL;DR: Overall I am quite disappointed that Novalis i) offered a bad solution to my issue; ii) falsely overpromised on what their work would achieve; iii) werent willing to stand by their work and accept responsibility that the work did not do what they said it would, iv) wouldnt work with me to find a solution; and most importantly v) talked about me behind my back and then pretended to be nice about it to my face. Full review: I had a very negative experience with Novalis. I called them to come check out a leak I was having that was showing up around my chimney inside the attic. Someone from Novalis came out to inspect and informed me that the flashing looked to be in good shape but that the leak was coming from the chimney itself, and said there were cracks in the mortar that needed to be filled to stop the leaking. I gave them the ok to start work based on their diagnosis but sure enough, the work did not solve the issue. I called them again to let them know and see if there was anything to be done. This time, a different tech came out and gave us a totally different diagnosis and said that the solution that last tech had given us wouldnt have worked - he even said he was going to talk to him when he got back to the office to figure out why he gave that recommendation. When I called the office later to discuss that discrepancy, I was told that the original work they performed wasnt guaranteed to work - but its the first step in a series of steps which they take to try to eliminate what the potential issue is. I understand that it can be very difficult to diagnose the source of a roof leak, but that is not how the original tech presented his solution to us. He assured us what he gave as a recommendation would work. If it was presented as a potential solution I may not have done the work or at least would have had different expectations. It is strange to offer solutions in a prescribed order, rather than trying to accurately diagnose the problem the first time. I asked if we could compromise and have the cost of the original work (or some portion of it) offset against the next step of their plan since what they had done originally didnt fix anything. It was only a couple hundred dollars that would be offset against several thousand. Given the lack of communication and the fact that the second tech told us the first guy had no idea what he was doing, I thought it was a reasonable request. The sales person on the phone said let me speak to my sales manager. The next part is the real kicker and the reason I wont work with Novalis again. The sales person thought that they put me on hold, but in reality I could still hear the conversation between them and the sales manager. They spent several minutes talking about how it was crazy I would even ask for something like that, that I had no idea what I was talking about and that they would never even consider any sort of compromise like that. They also said some not friendly stuff about me and insulted my intelligence while they thought I couldnt hear. The sales person got back on the line - faking friendliness - and was starting to tell me they can't meet me halfway. At which point I told them, politely (which was hard), that I was going to find a different company to work with and would recommend that you not talk poorly about your customers behind their back when you think they are on hold. Novalis is not a company I would trust with my roof or chimney, nor to let in my house again. I have not heard from Novalis since this incident. We have since had other roofing companies come out to inspect, and have seen photo evidence that the work performed by Novalis was done haphazardly and fixed absolutely nothing.

image I am very pleased with the work completed on my house. I had been shopping around for quotes for some work I needed done on my bay window roof and siding. They sent a very knowledgeable worker who was able to answer all my questions and provide me with recommendations on the spot.
