I moved into my home in November and the lawn was a mess. I called Marksmen in May because they do the mowing in my community. They advised me and gave me an estimate on what needed to be done. Most of the cost was for weeding and trimming bushes. The price was right and a few days later a crew showed up and got to work. My lawn looks so much better and I am on an ongoing program to bring back the grass. I highly recommend them and will use them again for any future work. The overall completion of the project was good although they did not perform mulch reduction as was requested on the quote and when they removed weeds from our rock garden, they did not replace the rocks they had removed. As a consumer, you should make sure you fully understand their policies before hiring them. Their coupon policy is firm in that if you don't present the coupon (which may not be a paper coupon; meaning you need to show the virtual coupon on your computer to the quote specialist) at the time of quote, you will not receive the 10% discount. There are also scheduling policies that should be understood before hiring them as well. When you give them a deposit for the work, they will give you a 14 day window within which they will start the work. They will not call you before showing up at your home. This can be of concern if you have to take precautions (like bringing your dogs inside) to ensure the safety of their employees while the work is being performed. Service: Landscaping maintenance

This company is not for residential use. We got a quote for the front lawn to have a flower bed (bulbs) and decorative stones removed, the lawn leveled to cover hazardous roots from a tree, the hedges trimmed, and new seeding completed; the cost was nearly $1,000.00. Over the next several weeks, the following things became clear about the work that was completed: The lawn was leveled with dirt that contained bits of plastic, glass, and small stones. Approximately two weeks after the work was completed, the flowers in the flower bed began popping through the new dirt, which means the bulbs were not pulled, only mowed over and covered. When contacted that the hedges were not completed, the responding employee said that the woman he spoke with must have misunderstood the (written) quote we received. All of the anti-eroding dirt that was used to level, did in fact erode away, so all of the tree roots are uncovered again. As the dirt has continued to erode away, it has become clear that all of the rocks in the flower bed were not removed, again only covered with dirt. The vast majority of the grass seeds did not take to this dirt, leaving the vast majority of the lawn with no grass. The companys commercial properties/jobs look fantastic, which is the reason we chose to work with them, however I would whole heartedly not recommend this company for a residential property.
