Service and common areas were great but the elevators, rooms were ehhh.. and the expensive parking after paying all that for a room.. 3.5 stars is accurate. The best part was the service at the front desk & the after hours pizza by the bar Nearby activities: Asbury Lanes, Womderbar. Stone Pony

Came in to the Berkeley for a wedding in the area Pros 1. Close to the wedding venue 2. Parking was ok for the area Cons 1. Overpriced for these following issues 2. The room doors dont shut correctly they rattle so when the room next door slams their door 5000 times it rattles my door and the door on the other side dont believe me check them 8 th floor. 3. The out dated blurry tv Ill say no more 4. The barking dog in the room next door. are dogs even allowed? 5. I stayed at a Hampton inn. On my drive to stay at the Berkley and was by far better and cheaper not returning

First, the only parking they offer is $40 dollar valet. Immediately I feel like spending 300 dollars on my hotel room for one night was not enough. Then Im in a roof where there is a window that is 6 x 12. With strong winds the window is about to break. Its so loud, it needs to be replaced and have a break in between. I could not sleep. To balance this I turned on the fan. I woke up to an alarm on the there clock at 5;45 am. I have no idea why but the room is now 79 degrees. Now the air conditioner broke. Its stuck at 79 degrees its hot as heck. Im just going to drive home. Terrible hotel room. Stay somewhere else, waste of money

My husband and I just stayed here for the Asbury Park half marathon (4/5-6/2024). I was hesitant after reading some of the reviews and I'm here to refute some of them. (please keep in mind this is off-season) yes. parking is $50 Valet. BUT We parked right across the hotel: street parking $2/hour. Could have been $1/hr or free if we wanted to walk several blocks. App made it easy to add time as needed. I wouldn't classify it as "old". It was more vintage/retro (on purpose). I wouldn't decorate my home like that, but certainly it was clean and functional. We had a corner room and it was HUGE! much more space than we needed for an overnight stay. The staff is first class. Jonalyn when we checked in, and Joseph when we checked out, were top-notch in their friendliness and helpfulness. There was a greeter at the door when we arrived to direct us to the front desk. It was pricey, but what do you expect being right on Ocean Avenue (steps away from the beach). It was the perfect location for participating in the half marathon event as the check-in tent and start line is right across the street. If we needed to stay in Asbury Park again, we would stay there. Rooms: We had a corner room. Room was spacious! Great view of the ocean. Only oddity was the sink faucet was very low in relation to the bottom of sink. It barely fit the plastic cup. When I was washing my hands, it would touch the bottom of sink. nothing bad, just an interesting design choice. Nearby activities: It's only a few blocks from the Stone Pony and across the street from the Convention Center. Boardwalk is across Ocean Ave.
