Basement had not been renovated for 50 years. Quality of air in bedroom upstairs was impacted by forced hot air system circulating through basement.
I got several quotes from multiple builders - high costs, unspecific steps. Eventually, I found DJS Contracting on Google (!) and asked them to look at the basement.
DJS Contracting gave a reasonable quote - very specific - including initial air testing, removing ceiling, removing partition walls, removing old floor tiles. Drylock seal foundation and walls. Post-sealing air quality testing. New floor, ceiling, walls, two interior doors, exterior door and windows.
DJS gave me 6 references of past projects, printed on the quote. I called #5 on the list - it was a project that went very well in Andover, MA.
Hired DJS. They did what they said they would - with good craftsmanship. Some changes were needed, once the walls were down - to deal with water infiltration.
Owner, Darren, was always responsive, phone or text. He explained options, and watched the bottom line for cost.
We made a few additions to the project as we went along - very reasonable price.
Air quality is now a lot improved - in basement, and the rooms upstairs.
We had a flood outside for a week - no water problems in the basement, so that got solved as well.
After the project, DJS Contracting recommended a painter - and the result you see in the pictures.
Overall, I am a very happy customer. Just wish we had renovated the basement long ago.
