Based on recommendations from some professional friends and colleagues, we reached out to Atty. Susan Lowry at  Upton & Hatfield, LLP, for an NH employment law issue and a request for consultation in October. We spoke to her assistant who took all the information for our particular issue. The assistant stated they would check for any conflicts of interest and get back to us. This was in October 2022. After not receiving a callback, we contacted them again. Again we spoke to Susan Lowry's assistant who took more information and said she would call to set up a consultation. We called several times over November and December. They never returned our calls or set up a consultation. This was a particularly difficult time, involving an unexpected job loss. If Upton & Hatfield was not interested in providing help, a simple return call saying "we're sorry we cannot offer a consultation" would have been a polite and professional response. Very frustrating given this firm came highly recommended.I spoke to several of my professional contacts letting them know that this firm doesn't seem to care about providing services to individuals. Perhaps just corporate customers and municipalities, but not the little guys.

I have spoken with Justin Richardson many times from the Portsmouth office and he is a class act. I have also spoken with many other attorneys from the Upton Hatfield team and i highly recommend this firm.

Upton & Hatfield LLP is an extremely qualified New Hampshire based law firm. In particular, Justin C. Richardson is an attorney that specializes in municipal, energy facilities, public utilities, and environmental cases, among others. Justin has acted as litigator for municipalities such as my own, Temple NH, in proceedings with the New Hampshire Site Evaluation Committee, and the New Hampshire Supreme Court. Justin is also a member of his hometown's Planning Board, and has experience in tax appraisal of utility properties.
