Im writing this review to warn others, but I can see by previous negative reviews that Rite Aid corporate does not actually care about customer experience, as pharmacist behavior and lack of customer service continues to be an issue at this location. I would say its even an ethical issue that indicates a corporate management issue with Rite Aid. The pharmacist on duty Mark Mycko denied to fill a pain med prescription for my family member who is actively dying of cancer and is in hospice care. Hospice sent the prescription in plenty of time to ensure we would not run out overnight. When I explained to the pharmacist that my family member is dying, and hes being administered pain medication every hour to keep him comfortable, hence the need to fill the script so we had enough to last through the night, all he would say is that he couldnt fill it today; but could have it ready *possibly* next day by 10am. His attitude was extremely uncaring and cavalier. At no point did he provide a reason as to why it couldnt be filled, nor did he provide an alternative. His lack of compassion and rude tone were quite shocking. He even questioned why it had to be filled again when it was filled 2 days prior, despite him being sent a valid prescription with a note from the ordering physician that it was for a terminal patient. The hospice nurse had to call the pharmacy directly and speak with the pharmacist; apparently his issue was that the insurance wouldnt pay for the script and we would have to pay out of pocket. At no point did he tell us this; obviously we would pay anything to prevent my family member to feel pain in his final hours. I was finally able to pick it up after paying out of pocket. The cost? Less than $40. The complete lack of compassion, coupled with the utter ineptitude of this pharmacist is astounding. He outright lied by withholding the information that the issue with filling the script was that it would be an out of pocket cost, and on top of that made me feel like a drug seeker. Please, stay far away from this location. Being a caregiver to a loved one who is dying is a stressful enough position to be in; this pharmacy and their staff have done nothing but add to that stress and make a difficult situation worse. I feel awful for the patients who may have suffered needlessly because the pharmacy is inept and frankly do not seem concerned with patient care. This is not the first issue weve had with this particular location and their pharmacy staff, but this situation is totally unacceptable and I hope others can avoid the stress my family has been put through.

I switched pharmacies to Walmart after experiencing rude and uncompassionate service at this location. My experience at the big box retailer was surprising pleasant for such a simple transaction. I used to do regular shopping at this store but their 'rewards' program is not so and the prices are ridiculous. I've recently heard that Rite-Aid ain't doing so well, and I can understand why.

The employees in the pharmacy at this Rite Aid location need a serious training on how to speak to customers. This is an ongoing problem at this Rite Aid (Pharmacy department) specifically. The amount of passing the buck when issues with prescription fulfillment arise is very unprofessional. Im sure there are frustrations on their end, but customers do not need to hear all about them when attempting to pick up a prescription.
