Travis Shelby Music Lessons

Travis Shelby is an amazing teacher! He's not only knowledgeable but he is able to break things down and communicate to beginners. He has great patience and cares about your growth as a musician. I appreciate his philosophy and the emphasis on ear training. I always leave his class feeling I've accomplished something. I would reccomend him to anyone who wants to learn guitar!

I cannot say enough great things about Travis Shelby! I would have given him 10 stars if there were enough stars here to fill in. I started my journey of the guitar at age 53 (never too old), and at that time Travis was recommended to me. Needless say I am still taking lessons from him and I trust this will keep happening for many more years to come. Travis is patient, educated, and a true professional in his field. Not only is he a great teacher but also a very talented musician. I would be pleased to recommend Travis Shelby for your guitar journey whether you are just starting out or looking to take your existing playing further. Searched several different Guitar teachers till I found Travis. He has a wonderful and patient ability as an instructor. You really get the whole ball of wax with Travis, he doesn't just teach the guitar it can also be about becoming a better musician or the ability to play with other people, if that's your goal, there's always just the fun factor. You pick the song you want to learn and he walks you through it, or gives you great suggestions to help you work out things you may need to get better, he's really the Best!!!

Travis and I teach in several of the same schools and have been playing together for years. Of all the musicians I know, Travis is by far one of the most selfless and stylish on the band stand, and caring and enthusiastic in the classroom. Not only does Travis have the ability to play with authenticity in any musical situation, he understands how to translate this feel and vocabulary to his students. I know a lot of his students, and you wouldn't believe the spectrum of genres they span. No matter what your musical level or favorite style, Travis will get you as good as possible as quick as possible!

I've been studying with Travis for over two months and I enjoyed having lessons with him. My favorite genre is Jazz and I like travis' teaching philosophy which focuses on ear training and musicality of playing. Yet, travis is definitely not limited to being just Jazz, as he has the knowledge and skills with a range of different music styles. Having said that, I do recommend travis if you are looking for a good guitar teacher to bring your playing to the next level! Good luck!
