As my parent began to age, we recognized the need to change her living situation. Our hope was to have her nearby so that we could help her but also keep her maintaining her independence. Building an ADU onto our own home seemed to make sense. After interviewing and meeting with several contractors, who were all recommended to us, we chose Solid Roots Construction based on the fact that we felt the most comfortable in their abilities to build our family the highest quality ADU at a fair price. From the beginning stages of approval with our town, to planning and designing the ADU space, through to getting our Certificate of Occupancy, Solid Roots made the entire process as smooth as possible. Providing excellent guidance and expertise. With property values remaining strong and the high quality of the build, we can get expect to get up to $100,000 more on the sale of our home now with our ADU. This has proved to be a great financial decision for us as well as a wise emotional decision. My Mom was now able to remain in her own home, without needing to be in assisted living or a nursing home. For her own well-being, continued happiness with life and financially, we were investing in the future. The only regret we have building our ADU with Solid Roots is we wish we would have done it sooner. My Mom loved her new, modern place and loved her close proximity to family and grandchildren.
