image BEST RENTAL DEAL IN NEW HAMPSHIRE RIGHT NOW
After selling my condo in Hooksett, I decided to rent from now on, as I have plenty of money for that and it's less stress and worry.
There is basically zero rental availability right now around Manchester. EVERYTHING is expensive There are a lot of scam artists. Concord is the same. Technoid genius inventor Dean Kamen has basically, single handedly, turned the Manchester Millyard into a high tech power house with thousands of high paying jobs. Combined with the housing boom, Manchester has exploded.
I stumbled on an ad on Craigslist for the Stevens Mill renovation project for new apartments. The open, brick walls, high ceiling, big beams etc. are my favorite. And seeing the prices, studios staring at $1250, 1 bedroom $1570 etc., I knew it was what I wanted.
Franklin is an easy commute from Manchester or Concord, but equally important, you on the edge of the oldest resort area in the United States - the lakes region. People come from all over the world come here to take in what will be minutes away for you. But again, Franklin being on the outer edge, you are not snarled in the summer traffic. And it's a gorgeous little city with a lot terrific architecture, rivers, hills etc. You have easy access to all major stores, restaurants, and the Tanger Outlet mall; is right up the road. An old mill town, Franklin has suffered, like all, but being where it is, and NH being in the middle of the biggest boom in history, there is no doubt it is about to take off. This has the 2 things I need: a great place to live and easy access to everything.
Coming from a long line of New England Cheap Yankee bluebloods, there is nothing better for me to find than an awesome deal for a great price.
When I called the Stevens Mill mill office, after hours, Liz Stewart, the manager, answered the phone. Good sign, When I went to the open house the next morning, an hour early(I was afraid there'd be a huge line), she was already there, and let me in!
She has great people skills, deep knowledge of the building etc., and is very easy to work with.
Seeing pics on their ad I knew the place was great, but seeing it in person shocked me more than any rental property I've ever seen. I was so stunned I forgot to take pictures, and I'm a photographer. The quality of everything was 2 or 3 times better than the so-called luxury condo I just move out of. Maple hardwood floors in the halls and in the units(not the cheap, floating laminate floors everyone uses today). Walk-in closets in the bedroom. GE commercial grade appliances. Detachable head on the shower, high end fittings, real, beautiful, solid hard wood doors with expensive, very attractive hardware. A worker there told me everything they used was "top shelf". The building itself, with foot thick brick walls, right on the river, is spectacular in itself and provides a unique, fantastic atmosphere. You are a block behind main street and and a couple of blocks from a terrific riverfront park, Each unit is unique, and gorgeous. Heat, central air, and wifi included in the rent. The owners have gone WAY beyond what is normal for rental property, at a super price, and it is an example of housing generosity, in this era of sickening greed, that has to be highly commended.
You have to see this place!! If you work from home, this is an opportunity of a lifetime. In this time of increasing extreme weather, do you want to be in a two by four toothpick frame structure(same as a chicken coop), or a building with one foot thick brick walls, like in Pompeii, which survived a volcano.
The apartments are really high end luxury condos the market in Franklin isn't ready for yet, but the brilliant owners know what is happening. Franklin just won the equivalent of megabucks with this company coming to town.
You RARELY run into this combination of opportunities. Move fast! After Liz showed me the places and searched her listings to find exactly what I needed, I had one question her: "Can I pay 3 months in advance?",
