Had an amazing morning at the nature trail. The trails were well marked and there were identification cards for a lot of the flowers/plants. Perfect place to bring kids and explore for hours. The trails are all fairly easy and there are maps all over incase you get mixed up. You can really tell how much the owners love nature. I wish there were more places like this.

On Saturday, my husband and I decided to find a new place to go, and I found this place. The owner was working when we arrived and was very friendly. We had a great walk that had plenty of nature to see. Bring bug spray and remember to use it (we forgot ours in the truck) There's a large and very clean Porta potty that was a pleasant surprise on the other side of the bog.

Cute place but be prepared for a mosquito attack. Dont forget the repellent. Small place for a quick walk.

this place was absolutely PERFECT, me and my kitty absolutely loved it!!!! we are bog lovers, but we never get to be too close to the water and plants because its usually very mucky near the edge. so it was so awesome and fun for us on the little bog bridge with all the plant identifiers!!!!! we both had an amazing time walking around for hours early this morning watching the water lilies wake up. luckily, there were barely any mosquitos this morning compared to last night. but this place is absolutely adorable with interactive structures and things to mess with. and they had a bunch of bug nets, wooden baskets and other things for people to use while theyre here. you can really just see the thought put into everything, from the accessable parking and toilets to the book pages along the trail. whoever made this place, THANK YOU! you're healing my inner child :)

Thanks for the 4★ review, Giovanna. Sorry about the mosquitoes. In a typical summer they are mostly non existent on the trails. Most of our many wetlands are usually dry by July. But this year we had 13 inches of rain in July, perfect conditions for mosquitoes to breed! BTW - You noted that Distant Hill Nature Trail is a "small place for a quick walk", but you obviously didn't hike all of our trails or see all that Distant Hill has to offer. We have over 5 miles of trails on 155 acres to explore, including the mile long Distant Hill Geology Trail, our children's half-mile Story Walk® Trail, our mile long 'Lost Acre Trail' to a shrubland field, and the mile-long 'Blue Diamond Trail' that connects the Geology Trail to an old feldspar quarry at an abbuting Boy Scout camp. We also have a nature play area for the kiddos, a quaking bog boardwalk, and a pollinator meadow to check out. You'll have to come back to explore more of Distant Hill once the mosquitoes die back.
