Filing for divorce is never something that one enters into lightly. Retaining Megan Lucey to represent me in this case was the smartest decision I made in navigating this difficulty process. She and her staff worked tirelessly to support me both legally and emotionally through every decision. They prepared me for all possible outcomes, and they never lost sight of what was most important me, the well-being of my child. I have every confidence in Megan, and the entire staff of the Berkich Lucey Law Group. Should you ever need their services rest assured that you will be in the care of a practice that is ethical, astute, and relentless in working for your best interest. Doctor Abigail Sargent

If you're looking for good, responsible divorce representation, keep looking. I hired this firm based on all these good YELP reviews. Divorce is a terrible, emotional time. You need a firm that listens. You need people that can empathize and explain the process. The people at this firm have all the degrees and mediation training certificates, but they are very insensitive to their clients. First, after your $300 consult (paid in advance), no one at the firm will talk to you unless you give them $8,000 up front. Desperate for representation, I got them the $8,000 via my ATM card. Oh, they had to charge me a $300+ ATM processing fee for for paying cash. We had to wait a few days until the full amount was in the bank. They wouldn't talk to me when the first $4200 was already in their bank, they waited for the next $3800 before starting. If your balance goes lower than $3,000? You guessed it, work stops until you get them more money. I told them my wife filed a fictitious Temporary Restraining Order (TPO) to get me out of the house (she changed the locks) and could they help me with the upcoming hearing? The answer was no for three reasons. One, everyone in the office was on vacation. Two, that would require a whole separate retainer structure. Three, they really were not that interested. So, I represented myself at the hearing and won easily, the TPO was immediately dismissed. Then came my experience with Megan Lucey and Megan Dowd. My attorney Meghan Lucey couldn't talk to me, she was always busy, so all my work was with Megan Dowd, the paralegal. I was upset on a call one day and Megan said I raised my voice (trust me, it wasn't that bad) while recounting my divorce frustration, and that was not allowed. I apologized but the law firm put me on "probation." Not to worry, Megan Dowd didn't last at the firm. I sent her some emails and soon there were no replies. Finally Megan Lucey the attorney said Megan Dowd was no longer there. No explanation. So the person who knew my whole story was now gone in the middle of my case. Anyways, bottom line, I spent $13,000 over four months with this firm and they couldn't even get my personal effects out of the house. They couldn't get me my coat, my computer or even my printer. I work for myself! I would finally get access to my separate property months later through another attorney. They couldn't even get me to the Case Management Conference. I also found it unprofessional that my attorney, Megan Lucey, insinuated that my friend that was helping me with my divorce was really my "girlfriend" as she put it. (that's right, in quotes, in the email). After that email (she refused to get on the phone with me) she asked me to go find other legal representation. I pulled the plug shortly after that, then had to make numerous phone calls to get my balance from Berkich Lucey refunded. Anyway, that was my experience. I have all the rude, curt emails from Megan Lucey regarding my case. Just send me a note and I'll send you the complete PDF file. Attorneys love to have proof to substantiate their case, well, I have it. If you're looking for a great divorce attorney, I would totally recommend Monica Caffaratti. She's located in Reno too. Her and her staff are amazing, they explain everything, you get fast responses, they are amazingly efficient. I can't say enough good things about them.
