        Tax preparer was absolutely outstanding on all fronts. H and R Block IT is horrendous. The applications are inefficient and unclear which means no one consulted the tax preparers on how to make it better - it was done cheaply. Phone system is antiquated and inefficient. Billing by the page for tax prep means you are unfortunately paying for every 1099, etc. instead of a price for 5 and then more for each additional at say, $2. The system of billing is ridiculous and it is a good thing FTC is investigating them. Paying $40 for a guarantee something was done right in case of audit is fraud as one should be able to trust their accountant without 'insurance'. Employees did not know about Treasury Direct (Gov't bonds) and there was no way for people to disambiguate paperwork once attached to one e-mail (I prepared my deceased mother's paperwork and mine which I thought would be two separate accounts.....) Overall experience was unpleasureable and dysfunctional except for original person I worked with. H and R Block can do better - they choose to do things cheaply and ineffectively.
