my son had inguinal hernia surgery from Dr Peterson. we found him after an extensive research on no mesh hernia repair. it has been five days since the surgery and my son is in zero pain and back to normal. i was worried about the surgery because a lot of things could go wrong but i am glad that we chose to go with him and that the surgery was successful. Update: it's been one and a half years since the surgery, I can't even see the scar. Upper part of the incision was a little protruding after the surgery but now it's gone. It looks great !

I'm currently over 1 year post my hernia repair with Dr. Petersen. My experience with Dr. Petersen and his staff (Kari) was very positive. Dr. Petersen is one of the best doctors Ive come across in 50 yrs. Hes an honest, straight shooter. I wish he was a family doctor as well. He repaired an inguinal hernia for me. Im very active with cycling/hiking/walking. I didnt want any mesh/foreign substances in my body and all the complications/stress that could arise with mesh. My research into no-mesh hernia surgery led me to Dr. Petersen and I would rate him the best in the world based on my experience. The scheduling, office visit and surgery were all very smooth.

PLEASE READ BEFORE USING THIS OFFICE!!! The story of lots of Pain, butchering, 15k dollars + in lost/wasted $$$, lots of wasted time, lies, bait and switch, employment opportunities lost, and an overall horrible experience. Scheduled 3 times to go to Las Vegas from Phoenix AZ for a hernia surgery. Scheduled hotels 3 times. Drove three times. Me and my girlfriend took a week off work each time. Dog sitters three times. Fuel three times. First two times we get there and they send us home hours before the surgery for whatever reason saying they couldnt do the surgery and they were pushing us out KNOWING we drove there from another state. Third time we show up and Latoya the front office lady tried to find every single reason to argue with us over literally every single thing and was rude and condescending as often as humanly possible. Followed up by trying to charge us more for the surgery despite an agreed upon price between us and the doctor. When I refused to do the bait and switch for in access of 5000+ dollars up charge Latoya demanded that we leave and that she was gonna call security and the police on us for ABSOLUTELY no reason as no cursing, threats, slanders, and raising of voice occurred. The office manager calls us back and tells us they will do the originally agreed upon price of 5000 dollars and that we continue on because weve already come so far. The surgery is many months past now and my belly button is so butchered from the surgery Im ashamed to be seen without a shirt. I still have no resolution after the surgery and I actually have new problems and pain that have arisen from the surgery that had been PROMISED would fix the problem. The aforementioned promise to always follows up was followed up with zero contact front them ever again and multiple messages left during normal business hours that were never returned. Overall absolutely horrific experience that has left us in shock and a sense of PTSD about doctors/surgeons in general.

NO bedside manner at all. He walked in and told my husband to "drop his pants and stand on the platform". HE DID NOT WEAR GLOVES!!!!! Then the day of surgery, my husband was laying on the bed and he just ripped the sheet back to sign the side to be repaired. He didn't even TRY to keep him covered!!! Part of being a doctor is treating your patients with respect. USE GLOVES!!!!! Don't expose your patients unnecessarily!!

I had hernia surgery with Dr Petersen one year ago. The surgery failed and I have since repaired with a second surgery with mesh. It cost me 5k out of pocket and a year of my life basically wasted being very careful...and always sore when u do any sort of light exercise. I was told by my new surgeon that Dr Peterson is "known" in Las Vegas.
