In May of 2018, I sufferred an injury to my right eye in which I lost most of my sight. The treatment that I received in the hospital emergency room was very poor, and appropriate referral to an eye specialist was not made. I contacted a number of attorneys in order to determine if I had a possible medical malpractice case. Almost all of the attorneys had little experience with my type of injury and did not want to investigate my situation. I was ready to give up, when I contacted Patrick McKnights firm and completed a telephone intake with his assistant. He called me and assessed my situation in a fairly lengthy telephone consultation. He requested that I give him copies of my medical records from the hospital, as well as subsequent medical evaluations. He reviewed my records, and did additional research in order to determine if my vision could have been restored with available treatments. After reviewing my records, Mr. McKnight called me for a lengthy telephone consultation. He explained to me that it appeared that the hospital did not do a good job of handling my injury. However, if I had received prompt treatment by an eye specialist, that it was very unlikely that my vision in my right eye would have been restored. He explained to me in detail the reasons that I would have no chance of establishing and winning a medical malpractice suit. There was little chance that my case would even be accepted, and virtually no chance of proving negligence by the hospital or having my vision restored by any available treatments. Mr. McKnights knowledge, patience, and communication skills surprised me, and were in my opinion, superior to the attorneys that I have known and worked with for other issues during my life. He appeared to be concerned and sympathetic to my situation. He spent a lot of time with me, for no charge, even after determining that he could not take my case. Mr McKnight has handled personal injury suits for both myself and my wife. In each case he took us completely out of the picture and handled all of the particulars sometimes for months on end. A lot of stress was alleviated right away in seeing how much attention he puts towards your case.
