        This was a hit and miss. We love Thailand and spent several months in the Kingdom of Smile in the past, it's fair to say that we are deeply familiar with the local cousine. Lamaii gets the vibe right, the smells and the interior can be in a trendy bar in Bangkok. The food takes an american twist on the classics, unfortunately. Deep fried and oil soaked makes otherwise delightfully light courses super heavy. My panang curry had no vegetables, just the sauce (which was very tasty), and shell on (!!) shrimps deepfried. There are some versions of this shrimp that has very light shell so deepfrying makes it edible... mine was not this variety unfortunately. The endresult was that I had to throw out almost all of the shrimps and I was left with the sauce and rice.
