Anderson Academy of Mathematics and Science

Anderson Academy is an excellent choice for my nine year old son. He feels welcomed and gets high quality of education from his two PhD teachers who are the founders of Anderson Academy of Math and Science. This school gives an individualized curriculum and attention to each students. Their teacher student ratio is max 1:10. What I really appreciate from this school, is that I know my son gets his education and experience from the two Drs. Unlike many other schools, you don't drop off your child only to get their lessons or services from volunteers or staff employees! At Anderson Academy, the Drs themselves deliver your child's education! No substitutes! This is so imperative when it comes to quality of education! I can not count the number of times when I sign up for something ( sports, services, therapies) because I wanted that qualified personnel they advertise, only to get services from their substitutes later. It is a problem because a substitute is never qualified to deliver the expected results. Later, that school will contact you saying your child is lagging behind! This frustration seized when my son joined Anderson Academy! We get what we signed up for! Quality education from the Drs. themselves! They provide positive and constructive feedback to help our child improve and move forward. They meet and greet our son when we drop him off and they are there the whole day with their kids doing what they know best - teaching! To me, Anderson Academy is an elite African American Elementary school where its students look regal in the way they look ( professional suit and tie uniform) and act professional so they are well prepared for the world that awaits them. Anderson Academy students are fortunate enough to be exposed to endless African American heros that contributed to this country. In this school, they get a chance to learn from public figures who look like them. For example, other day, my son brought a literature homework based on Benjamin Banneker - An African American mathematician who invented clock! How wonderful is that!!! I have no doubt that my beautiful son Naom Russom James will soon learn to live upto the meaning of his name - Pleasant Leader! Anderson Academy will teach him the way!

My son has been attending Anderson Academy for two years and it has been a tremendous blessing. The Las Vegas valley is known to have subpar schools both public and private. This school is not one of them. Our family believes in a very strong academic background and until we found them we were left with the option of just home schooling. Both Mr. and Mrs. Anderson (both PHD's) are professionals and have excellent cultural understanding. Our son is operating above grade level and learning a very broad curriculum. If you are looking for a great school. Check out Anderson Academy, you won't be disappointed.
