Beware of fake buffet advertising!!! We can't report anything about the room or location. We wanted to go to the buffet...there was nothing going on at reception, which prompted the staff to organize children's games instead of asking us how they could help. We asked about the buffet... (according to online information and advertising displays in the hotel). Succinct answer, it has been posted for 2 days and there is no website to communicate this... the good time was spent in vain. Stayed in this hotel casino in September 2023, what a disgrace it is, we waited for over 1.5hrs to get checked in, when we finally get to our room, we find the tap/faucet in the bath hanging on, the shower head hanging on, location wasnt the best area, very dated on the inside, been subjected to security checks on an evening when trying to go in the elevators/lifts, nothing during the day though, some of the restaurants closed, hardly anything on the hotel, would rather pay to stay on the strip, as for the resort fees thats a joke in itself, oh and the pool area, 3 pools available 2 closed, 1 that was open was in full sun offering no shade, shocking for the price and the resort fees Walkability: Not very walkable, you have to pass the homeless on a bridge, the bridge is something to be desired to, rubbish and human faeces on it, not very nice to see or smell

Worst Hotel Experience Ive ever dealt with. Booked in August. No mention of Hotels switching ownership when booking via telephone. Paid regular room rate for 5 rooms. No restaurants are open, the pool is closed, the majority of the machines are out of service to be removed, the convenience store is closed so you cant even buy a water or soda. They should have just closed down during renovations. This is straight up false advertisement. I feel like ive been robbed of my time and money. It took 3 attempts to check in to actually get a room. Rooms were still not ready 4 hours after check in time. My rooms were released and then re-booked so I have multiple duplicate charges on my credit card. Ive never been so disgusted with a hotel in my life and the Rio should be truly ashamed. Best case scenario is they refund my money for remaining nights so I can try to salvage the rest of the trip by staying elsewhere.
