Love this middle school the staff is exceptional and the principal is awesome every day he's outside making sure the kids cross the street safely in the morning and after school. The school Counselor for 6th grade is incredibly will help keep your kids on the right learning path. If your a parent that likes to get involved and attend all the wonderful programs they have for your kids this is the school for you :)

**for personal reasons i have to keep this vague.information you need to keep in mind during this roller coaster: i went 6th grade to 8th grade. i have an illness with social anxiety and treated prozac depression.TL;DR - i went to mannion right after elementary school. i had just gotten diagnosed with my illness, so this was very tough for me. because of it, i had to go to the nurses office everyday to check in and take meds at lunch time. this was a total pain. the nurses office was sanitary, but it took over 10 minutes just to get out of there, making me miss almost half of my lunch time. how was that acceptable? i don't know. did i complain about it, tell my parents, and ask them what they could do to make the trip quicker? yes. what was done? nothing. but that was besides the point. only a 10 minute lunch? i could handle that. wasn't much of a talker anyway.PROS:- it's an average school, taught us- somehow the lunch food was enjoyable (at the time)CONS:- no homework (no extra motivation to actually study)- new choir teacher incapable of doing anything to prepare students for festivals and cannot play the piano- some teachers seem racially motivated- 1/3rd of the lockers are broken- P.E. teachers do not take chronic illnesses seriously, announced it to the entire class that "___ has *illness* so it's okay if ___!!!"- P.E. forces girls to wear short shorts that make them self conscious- 1/4 of the staff is loud and anger filled- most teachers do not keep kids under control (even in accelerated classes)- bullying. 24/7. physical, mental, verbal- student to student rudeness- student to student body shaming- unwanted & cruel teasing / name calling (not as a joke friend way)- sexualize all girls heavily- 4 minutes to get to your next class is not enough, especially when teachers decline your bathroom request because "you should've went in passing period"- 24/7 "i can see you, i can see whatever is outside of your camera, i can hear you, i can see everything" goguardian stalker activity that is promoted- vapes used & they don't do anything about it- drugs sold & employees don't care- bathrooms and other areas filthy with gum, writing, graffiti, etc- people steal so much & you report it but they don't get back to youedit: more consif you can't tell, enroll your kid somewhere else. this place scarred me in my tweens.
