Maverik Adventure's First Stop

Maverik is a great place to come late at night for a few snacks, drinks, etc. Since it's a rest stop, it's good to hang out some nights in one's car and chill out in relative peace. I'm not sure if one could fall asleep either intentionally or not in their car. I have yet to ever do that, but running the heater on a cold night makes me drowsy sometimes. The only downsides are when the truck resupplies the store's stocks and the sparse traffic late at night. Even though it's not perfectly quiet, there is still a sense of relaxation. One of the late night cashiers is a bit odd. Sometimes kind, other times angry about something. One time, a coworker left a half eaten brownie behind the counter, and she couldn't help venting about it at me. She wanted me to buy it for some peculiar reason. Why in the world should I want that? One can only shrug off such oddities. Note: If you're heading Eastward out of the lot, like the 7-Eleven across the street, there's no direct path. For some reason the infrastructure favors Westward traffic and almost hassles those going the other way, although you have more space to make a turn leftward on the side road separating it from the 7-Eleven, the only real way out for the both going Eastward, unless you take the frontage road along the houses to skip the traffic light, which means crossing the highway without the safety of the traffic light.

There's one grumpy female employee that is there on swing shift. I've encountered her several times and she doesn't greet you when you get to the counter, she doesn't smile or have a friendly demeanor, she half chirps out the total that's due and she doesn't thank her customers. I've noticed the same bad attitude with customers in line ahead of me.
