We purchased a home from Marty Evans of NP Dodge and Huntington Homes in January of 2019 with an addendum to our purchase contract to have Marty add a custom patio to our home by April of 2019. Marty took possession of $20,000 upon the close of the sale to build our covered patio. After months of chasing Marty down, he finally broke ground in February of 2020 and the patio is still incomplete. Painting is undone, our BBQ area is incomplete and the exterior landscaping is torn up and unrestored. To make it worse, Marty held us hostage several times by walking off the job and demanding more money without ever once providing us with a written estimate, project plan,itemized invoice, scope of work or design feature options. When questioned, Marty has repeatedly evaded our questions and blamed us for changing our minds. I dont know how anyone can consider anyones mind change when no one agreed on what the original plan was to begin with? We have literally thousands of text messages and emails going back-and-forth over this 18 month timeframe and have repeatedly asked Marty for details costs, estimates, or some understanding of expenses. I have attached one of the many pictures of a texts we have asking for updated pricing, etc. Ive attached one from October 2019 to this review that of-course went unresponded to. Nevertheless, here we are, 18 months into this nightmare and Marty is washing his hands and telling us to speak to his attorney. Meanwhile, we are now more than $30,000 and countless hours of anguish into our unfinished patio and have been dealing with life in a construction site for nearly 6 months. My best advice to anyone considering working with Marty for Home building or real estate services is to beware and find a more professional partner.
