Original Post from 2015: This company is currently managing the repaving of West Center Rd from 156th Street to 174th Street, and it is one of the most poorly executed projects I have witnessed. They started by tearing up the top layer of the pavement on the inside lanes from just west of the Papillion West Creek bridge to just east of 168th Street. After that, there were multiple days in which not a single person was seen working on the torn up section of road. One of the busiest streets in West Omaha was left as one lane both ways for weeks. When they finally paved the inside lanes, they repeated the process on the outside lanes, again letting it sit for days with no attention. After half-way completing this stretch of road, they started the same process from 168th Street to 174th Street. The stretch between 156th and 168th was left unfinished for weeks while residents of the neighborhoods along West Center Rd had to drive over two to three inch cement corners multiple times a day. Now, we've come to the really fun part. They've finally reached the final phase of adding the top layer of pavement. In order to get a nice finish across the width of the road, they have to shut down one side of West Center Rd. This is understandable. What is not understandable is why they feel the need to do it in the middle of the night. They could just as well pave it during the day by diverting traffic from one side of the road to the other, thereby creating the same two-lane road that they didn't seem to be bothered by before. Instead, residents on both sides of West Center Rd have the pleasure of not only hearing but also FEELING the rumble of the asphalt paver through all hours of the night. This company is terrible, and they should not be trusted with managing road work in Omaha anymore. Edit/Update (2021): I just got around to reporting an issue with the road that resulted from this awful project six years ago. When Alfred Benesch & Company resurfaced West Center Road, they left a significant bump at the seam where Center meets with the northbound lane of 165th Ave. This bump has caused excessive wear on the cars of people living in the neighborhood as we have to drive over it again and again. I've seen many drivers resort to cutting into the southbound lane in order to avoid the bump, but that causes its own dangers. Additionally, I was surprised to see several new 5 star reviews on this company where there had been none previously. I was curious, so I googled the reviewers. What do you know? They're all employees of the company: Drew Parks - Civil Project Manager I at Alfred Benesch & Company Mike (Michael) Minino - works at Alfred Benesch & Company Austin Kellogg - Designer II at Alfred Benesch & Company Jonathan Zelensky - Construction Inspector at Alfred Benesch & Company Justin McGill - Works at Alfred Benesch & Company Chris Napierala - Sr. Project Manager at Alfred Benesch & Company Gabe Najera - Designer I at Alfred Benesch & Company
