Nebraska Health Imaging

Imaging work was fine. I was sent for an X-ray by the VA and was subsequently sent a bill, which was the responsibility of the VA. NHI has a horrible calling tree. The recorded message cuts out and you can't hear half of what it says. I was forwarded to the billing call center and they were completely unable to help me and said they had not ability to call the VA themselves. They hung up on me. When I called back to NHI the person who answered the phone stated the calling tree sends you to the wrong billing center. She gave me a new phone number, which sent me to the same calling center I already spoke with. I guess I have to do all the work in order for them to get paid and stop receiving emails about the bill.

Everything seemed quite clean. There was a changing area with lockers to keep your things secured. The technician brought a gown and trousers for the MRI. Fairly quick procedure. They have special headphones for music! I asked for classical.

To help avoid confusion: Google and the sign on the door at NHI says that they open at 7 but its actually 6. They recently changed opening hours, my appointment was at 6:30, and I had to show up 30 minutes ahead so right as they opened. I had a very positive experience all things considered (keeping in mind that stuff like this is always stressful to a degree). I needed two spinal MRIs which my neuro ordered them from NHI. The receptionist (Meggin) was extremely friendly and helpful, answered every question and really helped me feel at ease while I was checking in. The technician (LeAnne) was very professional as well. The price I paid (up front/out of pocket) was exactly what my neuro quoted. I received no additional bill after my appointment. The dressing rooms, lockers, and gowns were clean. The only slight snag I encountered was when I scheduled the appointment. The person on the phone accidentally put in brain MRI instead of T spine for one of the two MRIs I was getting (C and T), and my neuro had to contact them to make sure they put in what she ordered correctly. I dont think thats a big deal since I noticed the mistake. The price of the two MRIs was about five times lower than a single one I got at the hospital in the past.

Meggin welcomed me in the door and remembered my name. Patty ran my CT scan and explained everything. Very knowledgeable and caring Good experience overall.

FYI- this place does NOT allow children in appointments, nor do they tell you that when you book the appointment. It's their "company policy", but they don't bother mentioning it when you schedule an appointment with them. Completely unreasonable place for parents of young children.
