Years later I still think about the knowledgeable and efficient service I received here. I needed a couple quick repairs on my AE-1 and parts were in stock/it was repaired right away. Prices extremely reasonable. Much appreciated.

Walker Camera Repair is an Omaha treasure, and the photography community is incredibly fortunate to have access to Kevin's skill & expertise, especially when it comes to camera repair. I've been shooting digital urban landscape and street photography for the last few years, and I wanted to make the jump to film photography. I've picked up a few 35mm film cameras here and there, and there was one in the early Canon Sure Shot line that I bought but it wasn't working: the AF35M II (1983). I brought it in to Kevin, and he fiddled with it for a while, cleaned the battery contacts, but couldn't get it to turn on. He took it on as a repair, and a week later he called to say that he was able to take parts of my camera and combine them with another Canon Sure Shot to get me one that was in perfect working order. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? All for $100. Sure the camera *MIGHT* be able to sell for that on eBay (and likely wouldn't come close), but that's not what matters. Kevin took a broken camera from the early '80s and tapped into his existing inventory of the same camera to combine the best parts of them all into a like-new Canon Sure Shot AF35M II. Kevin is a true master of camera repair, and we are INCREDIBLY fortunate that he's still buying, selling & repairing cameras today. One last thing... Not only did he repair my Canon Sure Shot AF35M II, but he had just received the original Canon Sure Shot from 1979 - the AF35M - and it was in such good condition he didn't feel it needed any work. He sold it to me for $60! I already had the Canon Sure Shot AF35ML (1981), and now with Kevin's help I have the other two cameras in the early Sure Shot line. I had also acquired a Canon A35F (1978) in perfect working order on FB Marketplace ($20!), but it needed light seals and some tweaks to the film door latch (the old lights seals were blocking it). Kevin has that camera now to get ready for shooting. Oh, and I was talking about the Canon Canonet line, and he pulled out a box of pristine Canon Canonet 28 (1971) cameras, and said he'd happily pick the best one and get it ready for me to purchase. If you have an old film camera that needs some work, Kevin can handle it! And even if it costs a bit more than the camera is worth to repair, consider paying for it. Not only does it keep a cool old camera functioning, not only does it keep film photography alive and well, but it supports a small business in Omaha that is a vital part of the overall photography community.
