Deluxe Inn Nebraska City

The basics are covered: clean, quiet rooms, comfortable beds and friendly front desk staff. Convenient to highway yet very little traffic noise. Can walk to Wal-Mart and a few restaurants; Dollar General across the street. Only drawback was no breakfast.

We've been staying at this hotel over the last 30+ years when in town to visit family, and despite the fact that it is clearly older, the rooms are always neat and clean, and the manager and staff accommodating and friendly. We had one room on the first floor, two on the second floor. All rooms were nice and clean, had a mini fridge and microwave, and TVs worked well. Walkability: There is a grocery store, dollar store and Valentinos directly across the street. Very convenient.

Worked here for a little while. Not paid by the hour 4.30 paid a room 3 for a stay over. Didnt make enough money to even consider staying. Worked at a very fancy hotel and they didnt like the way I was up keeping the rooms. Wasnt accommodating to us either. Had to throw dirty sheets down to the first floor and had to carry cleaning supplies from room to room didnt get to use a cart and get the room out of the way and cleaned quicker. Had to make multiple trips to clean the rooms and mind you, not getting paid by the hour, had to wait for dirty laundry to be washed and dried so we could stock the room back up. They didnt want me spending too much time in a room, so I didnt get to give much detail to cleaning windows, dusting, cleaning off phones, little things that do matter. They just wanted the sink wiped off and countertops wiped down, repositioned the curtains, made the bed and vacuumed thats it. Very understaffed because its not worth the money because they are family owned so in other words they talk to any guests that have problems or check them in and out otherwise sit back and watch the money roll in while staff got paid way less than minimum wage. The cash I received was 50$ after a week of work. She didnt want to go the direct deposit route unless we planned on staying because she expects her staff to just end up quitting. Only other housekeeper when I worked there was an older lady who had a bit of a hunched back and had a limp and has messed up teeth. Probably worked there so long she probably didnt wanna leave. I know if she was getting paid a bit more it wouldnt have been too much more because the owner would pick her up everyday she didnt have a car. They dont serve no breakfast in the morning and Im pretty sure this place gave me bedbugs (good thing I live in an apartment so I didnt have to pay for treatment) if youre seriously contemplating staying here I would think again but if you do expect the least and hope for the best. And please tip the probably only one housekeeper who works there. Only good thing about staying at this place is the management will be good to you from the experience Ive seen. And expect the housekeeper to be up keeping your room for a while especially on the top floor bc we had to come back to it multiple times to get dirty linen, to clean it, to grab the trash (which was also put into a pile until it was time to collect it all at once and throw it away so it looked real nice for the people staying) seriously, its cheap for a reason, and there maybe 4 other hotels in Nebraska city thats worth spending the extra bit of money.
