I contracted with Jay the owner of Affordable Drywall to have 2 electrical outlets replaced and to have an existing shower stall removed and replaced. I agreed to pay him 50% up front and the remainder upon completion of the job. He was in a big rush to start so I agreed to let him start on the outlets. We set a start date and time. He arrived about 2 hours late with no phone call or text message. It then took all afternoon for him to replace one outlet. The work he did was sloppy and unprofessional. I told him I was cancelling our contract to which he took great offense and promised to make it right. So after agreeing to start over we established another appointment time for him to arrive. He sent me a text 10 minutes before he was to arrive saying he was on his way. An hour later he sent me a second text saying something came up but he was on his way. 3 hours later after no further contact from him, I realized this was not the guy I wanted doing any more work in my home. I asked him to return my deposit money and that was the last I heard from him. He talks a good story but doesnt follow thru. Our paths will cross again as I fully intend to take him to small claims court.

We needed someone for drywall installation and shower installation. What we got was a total nightmare. The pictures of the work he has done is not even close what he actually does. Then came the excuses of not showing up when he said he would. If he did show up it was for 15 of work and he had to go back to get a tool and never returned. excuse after excuse. He still hasn't returned to finish the job. took the money and ran. only reason i gave him 1 star is you cant go lower. contacting the BBB, leaving reviews here so others do not fall for scam artist. even thinking of legal action it was that bad. If you don't care about craftsmanship or integrity then jay is your man. Going to have to hire another handyman just to fix his mistakes and do it right and finish the job COMPLETELY
