This last summer, I took my CNA course through the NHCA. I would definitely not recommend. When I signed up in early May, I signed up because it was a hybrid course - a month of online class work followed by a week of in person clinical training. It seemed like a great time saving idea to me. But unfortunately they were only offering 1 hybrid option in Lincoln over the summer, which made zero sense considering the demand for CNAs and the size of the Lincoln market. So I was forced to drive to Seward everyday for a week, spending nearly 2 hours everyday driving round trip and going through lots of gas. The course itself was informative and the nurses at the care home who led the clinicals were great. Thats the only reason this place gets 2 stars and not 1. Once I had completed the class, I found out that the state licensing tests were not included with the cost of the class, unlike literally every other class I looked into. On top of the $600 I already paid for the class (which was $150 more than any other class around Lincoln), they wanted to charge me an additional $100 for the two tests I had to take. I had to take one of these in Omaha since the NHCA was only offering a limited number of testing dates in the month before I left for college, all of which were filled up. Incredibly frustrating. Then once I went to do my clinical test with the NHCA, I was told that each would each person there would take around an hour to test and had to go one at a time since there was only one person evaluating. It just so happened that I had to go last, so I wasted 4 hours of my evening waiting and had to be late to work. Wouldnt it have made more sense if we were scheduled an hour apart individually? As if I wasnt frustrated enough with this situation, when I was applying for a CNA position a few weeks ago, I found out I didnt receive BLS training, which I would have received in any other class. Overall, would steer clear of the NHCA if youre looking into CNA classes since they want to take your money and are very frustrating to deal with.

The CNA class was an awful ordeal for me because of a "student" that ran her mouth about every single minute she was in class, even talking over the instructor. After complaining for days about the disruptor and having nothing done about it, I proceeded to inform the administration that I was leaving and wanted a refund. I have a 3.8 GPA and I had no intention of leaving there with anything less. Things took a turn for the worse, but I did get my refund. I really don't recommend this institution at all.
