Stayed at Suburban Suites while visiting the area for the Sandhill Crane Migration. Located off I-80; easy on/off, however, the entrance to the service road is a bit difficult to locate when arriving at night. New electric car charging stations located before arriving to the front of the hotel, and there were a few cars blocking our access when arriving; so future travelers need to just be alerted to that little hiccup. The lobby at check-in was very busy when we arrived, with only one staff member assisting customers; one of which had a problem with their reservation (made by an online 3rd party entity). Staff was pleasant, and handled the business well, but had to work between two computer kiosks for two different hotel chains located on the same property, and answer phones. Just thinking the property would benefit from an additional staff member for check-in during the busy weekend (especially when tourism is up during the migration) Having said that, there's nothing but positive to say about the staff member that did check us in. The property is undergoing lots of construction, so we had to drive past storage containers and all things construction to get to the entrance to our room, located on the other side of the property. It was manageable, but we did worry about the possibility of unintentional damage to our vehicle (thankfully, none to report) Entering from the back of the building did make us feel a slight bit concerned for our safety. There is plenty of lighting, and door is secured by keycard access only, but we did feel a bit compromised due to the excessive construction bins, etc. It just felt unsafe, but happy to report that we didn't experience anything or anyone unpleasant or questionable. I'm sure it will have a friendlier feeling once the construction is completed. The room was a pleasant surprise! This is an older chain hotel in which single rooms have been joined to create larger 2-room suites! Our room had a large, clean bathroom with a walk-in shower just inside the entry to the room. A small kitchenette with mid-size fridge, microwave, cook top and all kitchenware needed is open to the living area which had a small dining table and chairs, a sofa, end tables, coffee table, occasional chair, and television. All clean and well appointed. In the adjoining room, we had a comfortable king-size bed, dresser, side tables, ect. A large walk-through closet area leads to vanity/coffee station area and then on to a second full bathroom with tub! This room was huge! And clean! And a great value for what we were charged. Both rooms had large sliding doors that opened to a center courtyard (which we weren't able to enjoy due to our short one-night stay) This would be a perfect suite for anyone needing to remain in the area for an extended time. We will certainly stay here again, despite the small inconveniences noted above as we know construction won't last forever and sometimes staffing shortages just happen.
