Called, talked to the front desk and left a voicemail for Moriah to get some information on inquiring our mortgage loan through them since my dad talked so highly of her and the bank but couldnt even get a call back. Its been weeks and still havent heard from them.

I've honestly never had a bank work harder for me. My calls are always answered and the women there are amazing.

Don't bank here. They lure you in with promises like no overdraft fees, yet play games like you can't overdraft your account anyway, so how could you be charged? I opened an account to have a local account to make my house payment from, and just closed my account after a month, because when I tried to cash $400 check from a credit card company, to make my house payment, they informed me that because there hadn't been any activity on my account since my last house payment, they couldn't cash the check, but they could deposit it after a nine day hold. First off, it's $400. Both the writer and eagle bank can afford it. Second, it's from a major credit card company. Third, I only opened this account to have a bank in the same town as my house payment. The only money ever intended to go in or out was monthly, for a house payment. The very first day with them I had an issue making my first deposit and it has gone downhill since. The people in management positions all try to tell customers that this is how all banks are, when that's just not true. I have multiple other accounts and I don't deal with half of this issues Eagle Bank has put me through in a month.

Business Response on Google Jan 12th, 2024
We are sad your experience with Eagle Bank did not live up to your expectations. The decision to eliminate overdraft charges was not made lightly. In fact, it costs our company over $50,000 annually to do so. We felt it was the right thing to do to help our existing customers and those most in need. It certainly wasn’t done to lure anyone to the bank. Regarding your situation, you were given an account disclosure at the time of account opening that stated on new accounts (under 30 days old), the bank reserves its right to hold unverifiable checks per federal regulation. Because of high instances of fraud and scam checks, the bank exercised this right for both your and our protection. Banking is a relationship business that relies on trust. Relationships are built over time and trust is established over time. We apologize if we did not adequately explain to you our reasoning behind the hold. This is done not to inconvenience the customer, but to protect both the customer and the bank from loss on unverifiable instruments. We will endeavor to do a better job of explaining this to our new customers, so they understand the reasoning behind the hold. Once an account relationship is established in the account is handled well, there would be no hold on a check of this type.
