The Den

I wanted so much to love this place. The building is beautiful and the location is great for that community. The drinks were great but the food took a very long time to come out and it wasnt busy. The portions were very small. The potatoes tasted like mold and the sausage wasnt your typical breakfast sausage and they were these tiny little sausages cut in half to make it look like more. It looked like a kid's portion. When the server asked how my food was and I told her I was disappointed, she pretended not to notice. The place has potential but needs some work yet.

Great ambience. Food was underwhelming and service lackluster. Also got a shell in the poached egg (not sure how you do that). Attention to detail is missing. The Den could be something special, but has a ways to go.

I love the Den. Food is great and servers are very friendly. My only complaint is that the lattes are always lukewarm. When Im spending $5. for one, I really like it to be hot. Could they maybe use a thermometer when steaming milk? Otherwise, no complaints-its a great atmosphere and fun place to go!

Hidden away in the Miller Creek neighborhood you will find a little slice of heaven and its called, The Den. I happened upon this delightful spot when I was snooping around for a new spot to eat and I am so very excited that I stopped in for brunch. Im going to say first of all that I had the absolutely best server, ever, in Kirsten. I am always so happy to experience top notch service, mostly because I can cook my own food, but its the service that for me makes a dining experience enjoyable. Kirsten was amazing. Friendly and welcoming, helpful and most of all happy to accommodate some dietary requirements. Congratulations to the owner/manager of The Den for hiring Kirsten. Now, onto the review of the food and setting. I had an order of corned beef hash that was sublime. Large pieces of in house corned beef with perfectly prepared eggs and delicious potatoes. My table also had a vegetarian breakfast bowl that was huge and scrumptious. The Den has lovely views and outside seating that I will be coming back to enjoy once the weather is nicer. If youre looking for a superior local restaurant that exceeds your expectations I can only say; drop everything and stop in today. You wont be disappointed. The Den is my new spot.
