Logan Health Specialty Care - Missoula

Dr. Wheeler has always been the best to us. Very patient, kind, and understanding. He has been seeing my daughter for almost 8 years. We used to drive to Kalispell to see him from Missoula but recently switched and have been seeing him from the Missoula location virtually and it has been an ok transition until recently. Our last visit made us really uncomfortable. The lady in the front is usually welcoming, professional, and easy to talk to. This time, it was the polar opposite. She did not acknowledge us when we walked in. She was on the phone . When she hung up, I went to tell her my daughters name and she interrupted me and told me to wait. She then started walking us through the check-in process but would only chicken peck type with one hand, her eyes were both bloodshot, she was shaking, she wasnt wearing shoes, was disheveled in appearance with a baggy long sleeve shirt, and I could barely understand her. The nurse was sitting in the hallway waiting for her to check us in the whole time. The nurse was great but I could tell she was rushing because Dr. Wheeler was waiting for the appt due to the longer check- in. When we came back out, the lady in the front was relaxed half crouched/half cross-legged on the chair across the room still without shoes on. My daughter asked to go to the bathroom but there was an out of order sign on the bathroom door. She told my daughter it was fine to use. I told her we needed to set up another appt and she told me to go to the front window instead of the checkout window and seemed really short with me when we were trying to pick a date. Maybe it was just a bad day or she wasnt feeling well because she is usually put together nicely, professional, and very friendly but the whole experience this time was very off-putting and uncomfortable. My daughter spent the next 5 minutes asking me if she was ok. I understand making us come to the building to get vitals for my daughter to then see her Dr. virtually, but if this is the new norm for the office, we may have to reconsider how we see Dr. Wheeler. We would never, ever trade Dr. Wheeler because he is the absolute best and we love him, but the way the office in Missoula was this last time was a big bummer for us.

The staff was great, and Dr. Wheeler was great with my daughter.
