This mountain was a beast! It's straight up with only a couple areas that flatten out for 100 ft or less. Bring at least 3 ltrs of water. Hiking boots and poles are a must. You will be on your hands and knees scrambling up the boulder field the last 3/4 mile and the hike down is a killer on your knees. Pay close attention to the weather, it changes so fast. This hike will definately test your fear of heights, but exhilarating when you step on the top. Breathtaking views of the Bitteroot Mountains!

Pretty decent hike uphill. Dog-friendliness: Probably not wise to bring a dog along if you are going for the peak. It's a dry hike and the last bit is picking your way across a boulder field at around 10,000 feet which is difficult for dogs.
