I had a very unprofessional experience at the Academy of Cosmetology, Bozeman. I started using henna during Covid and went for an appointment and did a test to see if my hair would take on color. It did take on color and made a second appointment. However when I went for this second session they applied color but left it on my head for 3 hours. They claim they had a reason for it but this essentially burnt my scalp. When they washed my hair my head was burning. My dermatologist was shocked when I met her. When I called the Academy of Cosmetology to complain and tell them about the trauma and pain I had experienced the instructor basically refuted it and said that its fine to leave color longer as the chemicals stop reacting after a certain time. If this was an experience in any service and I had received burnt food for example and been caused harm during a session, professionals would rectify things in any way possible and also refund you. When I mentioned this to the manager/instructor at the Academy of C. she quoted a bit of fine print on the receipt telling me I cannot sue the Academy. I was not planning on suing the Academy and was just expecting a refund. I also told them I wanted to speak to them since this is a school and not just write a bad review which would not be as constructive. However my disrespectful and terrible experience there has made me finally write this review since they simply ignored my phone call.

Usually a cheap so so haircut but be careful about additional charges. Was told I was getting a cut and rough blow dry, but turns out the stylist used a brush while drying so price went up by 200%. I mentioned something to the lady checking out and she kinda just said sorry The stylists are also pretty open about their hate of those from out of state, which can get a bit awkward.
