I have rented from Christy in many other locations, but Big Sky is not up to par. First of all, the rental area for customers is really tiny and when we arrived it was a crowded mess. There was no organization...it was a "every man for himself" situation, so you just had to muscle your way through the crowds and attempt to get the attention of one of the staff. The staff stays behind a counter and customers are on the other side, which creates another problem. It didn't really feel like a "fitting"....you are kind of on your own to evaluate the gear and determine if the sizing is correct. (whereas at other locations, they are right there in front of you, asking the right questions and making sure everything fits). As a result, we had multiple issues in our party of 8 with gear that wasn't a good fit. Some of the staff were nice enough, but others were fairly rude. When we returned the gear, one of the staff was again fairly rude or indifferent with some questions we had. Even though I've had great experiences with Christy's in 3 different locations, I will reconsider after this really bad experience.

Everyone here is super helpful. Love the new boots especially being able to ride all day without rental boot pain.

Buyer Beware! Their demo ski program, where they credit 2 days towards the purchase is a scam. They purposefully increase the price of their ski over msrp retail cost by $140, so actually you are renting the demo skis, and still pay $25 over the msrp, plus the cost of the demo, if you want to purchase. My problem is they are sneaky and dishonest instead of being up front about their deciptive retail practices. But I guess that is part for the course in big sky, over charge and under deliver. I guess the only way to make a profit in this town is to cheat.

I demoed skis from here. Super convenient as I believe its the only ski in/out option (you can ski down to their back door. You will have to walk up stairs to get back up though). Great customer service! They get you switched around to a new set in no time. Very friendly. Unfortunately they didnt have for sale the model I chose in my size, but totally worth it. I found my perfect skis! Thank you!
