        We have stayed at the Hickory House several times before but this time we took the grandkids. They loved it! We played the board games that are there and in the morning we enjoyed a delicious and beautifully presented breakfast.

        Beautiful place to stay! Incredible/friendly staff, exquisite breakfast (best Ive ever had anywhere, ever!!), and perfect location! I definitely will be back in the future. :)

        We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Hickory House Inn. Beautiful B&B, delicious sit down breakfast and met some great people! All in one of our favorite Montana towns. Highly recommend!!

        The building was charming and in a great location. Sadly although there was candy covering all the entrance tables, we were not welcomed by anyone upon arrival. I had emailed twice asking if we could include my 4 yr old granddaughter in our reservation. No replies. We also asked if they could accommodate our vegan diets. At breakfast, strictly at 8:30, we were not greeted so we wandered into the dining room. It looked like there was not room for us, there were plates heaped with sausage and eggs on the table. I asked the cook if he had received my emails. He rudely replied no and left the room. And said goodbye to me. Sadly, they are unable or unwilling to accommodate special diets. This is the most unwelcome Bed and Breakfast Inn that I have ever encountered and I will not stay here again. And I would not recommend it. (And the room was quite cold - the heat couldnt be adjusted above warm. But the beds were warm and comfy with extra blankets.)

        shawn and his wife were fantastic. room was just as advertised and met our needs perfectly. breakfast was great. communication was very good. definitely will stay again. Walkability: walked to shops and restaurants

      Catherine, We are very sorry that you were disappointed in your stay at The Hickory House Inn. We strive to make sure all of our guests feel like they are at home! We are a small intimate Bed&Breakfast that uses a self service check- in, which the arrival email notated for you. When you walked in the front entrance, there is a welcome poster asking you to please let the phone number on the poster know that you have arrived, that way, we can assist in any way possible! We have recently changed our systems, and the email stating your dietary restrictions had never came through so we were unaware of the dishes needing to be vegan. We do apologize for that miscommunication! We are glad you were able to stay comfy and warm with the extra blankets provided, and hope you found good use of the space heater that is also in each room for some extra warmth! The house is placed in a historic rectory that was built in 1902, with the heat still coming through radiators, so we do our best to keep it at a guest friendly temperature. We are proud to have to title of the Best Bed & Breakfast in Montana and we are sorry that it was not up to your standards!
