They have done our taxes for the past 2 years and done a great job, answered all of our questions.

My husband and I had Mr. Nicholas Schultz in West Plains complete our 2021 taxes. We provided all necessary information, and was told what we should receive from state and federal. When our return from federal came back, it was short $4200.00 We consulted with the West Plains office immediately and were told that we "would have to wait until we received the IRS letter explaining the issue." We did that, and as soon as it arrived I scanned and emailed it to Mr. Schultz. He called immediately to tell my husband that his office made a mistake and our children were not taken into account and we indeed would not be receiving the $4200.00.
Our children were listed on our tax forms and all information regarding them was provided. I emailed Mr. Schultz back explaining that we understood humans can make mistakes and we are thankful no penalties or fees were involved this time, however, asked if there was anything that could be done regarding the tax prep fee, as again, we had provided all necessary information. I was informed in a one sentence email that "we do not adjust our fees for such matters."
I emailed Mr. Schultz back thanking him for his reply and simply asking that if he received an incorrect order in a restaurant, would he expect them to either fix the order or not charge him, or should he place an order for something personalized and it was incorrect, would he not expect that to be corrected? He admitted it was his office at fault and still refused to make it right. I also emailed the longest-standing shareholder of the firm, Mr. Ken Schultz, in the Springfield, MO office, asking if he could do anything regarding the tax prep fee. I have not received any further communication from either of them. It was a waste of money to pay them, when ultimately it was the IRS who completed our taxes.
