Lack of professionalism. My realtor arranged me to this company for the title of my first house - she did not explain that I can shop for the title company when I wrote my earnest money check, so I just did. Later, I found that this company title fee is expensive, but already late. So, I just want to let every process flows in purchasing my house and let it go. However, even their service was not impressive at all to me with that price. As just few examples, 1. at closing day, while I was talking with my lender, the escrow officer from this company interrupted and gave pressure to finish sooner through my lender, without asking to me. Always unexpected things can happen. Maybe we spent more time than usual clients because of me, but there could be better way she could handle. I was unpleasant, but it was ok as long as their work is solid. It turned out that (2) it has been not. At closing day, there was already an error in a document, and they needed to fix it. Ok. I signed that they can make errors anyway. I was like ok. Just felt that they are not that professional,… but maybe one. 3. Sure enough. A month later after closing, I receive a mail from STL office of the assessor, and it says that there is incorrect information to transfer the house into my name. 4. I think that the real problem is kind of lack of communication. Even when this issue happened, I asked my realtor to contact the escrow officer via email for the title issue. But, no response. So, I emailed again. (eventually my realtor could contact). 5. A few days ago, I had a question in the title statements. So, I emailed them to ask about it and also the status of the title issue that has been for a while. So far, no response . Is it because there nothing to lose in their side after closing? I can tell more, but maybe it was my mistake that I did not shop for the title company. It is ok because this time it was a small deal for my practice in real estate business. In the future, now I know which one I need to avoid at least when I take care of a real deal.
