River Oaks Resident Line

River Oaks was wonderful to my mother! She loved it and was very happy there! The staff was wonderful to her! I can't thank them enough! It was always clean, and they were very caring. A great home for your loved one.

I love River Oaks Care Center, the amazing, kind, loyal staff and the loving residents! Being the oldest sister of three daughters born to my parents I had to do the unthinkable in July 2016. I had to get her the desperate medical attention she needed. I will never forget as we waited for the ambulance to come, her looking at me with those beautiful blue eyes of hers and asked, Am I really sick? Trying not to let a tear slip from my eyes I replied to her, Yes sweetie you are! My sister was having some problems so I decided it might be best for her if I moved out of my apartment, moved in with her and help each other along life's journey. Well, I knew it wouldn't be easy as growing up we weren't the best of friends. Wow, that was an understatement, my sister... God Bless Her! I failed to realize just how tough a time my sister was having. Before my very eyes and the judgemental eyes of others she was spiralling down such a desperate path of confusion. She didn't know how to ask for help, she didn't understand what was happening to her and neither did I. Angered family and just plain ol mean people would call the police department to have her carted away to jail. I'm assuming she scared them maybe or probably annoyed them more than anything. After she left for help in July 2016 she has been to several hospitals and care facilities. I am happy that she resides at River Oaks Care Center, at last she is closer to me. Thank you to a special lady who lives in New Madrid for bringing her closer to home. The staff are the most amazing people and they love my sister. The residents love my sis and always tell me how they look out for her. Each Time I visit everyone has a smile for me. The care center is a beautiful home, well staffed, clean, serving healthy meals and full of love just like home should be. You will never know how much all of you mean to me as I had often cried for my sister and pondered the thought... Did I do the best thing for my sister. Yes, she would probably be gone, not with us anymore had I not. That's an awful burden to bear and I hope you never have to bear such a burden alone as I did. I love y'all and from the bottom of my heart Thank You for making my sister comfortable and feel like she's at home! You maKe a difference in a cruel world that doesn't understand dementia!
